We are one of the first members of the association led by CIVB (Conseil Interprofessionnel des Vins de Bordeaux / Interprofessional Council of Bordeaux Wines) for the SME (Système de Management Environnemental / Environmental Management System) of Bordeaux wine certified ISO14001 since 2014. We are both ISO 14001 and HVE (Haute Valeur Environnementale / High Environmental Value) Level 3 certified.Since 2018, we are partially and gradually converting to organic agriculture.
Our Engagements
ISO 14001
ISO 14001 is an international standard based on the continuous improvement of environmental performance, the prevention of pollution and implies the company to commit to reduce nuisances. This proactive environmental policy (ISO 14001) is not an obligation, but a choice.
It is a natural extension of the initiatives and innovations carried out by Vignobles Reynaud: organic manuring, plowing or grassing, as well as gradual return to working the soil under the row, application of the “geodic process” (use of sound waves to fight against certain diseases), reduction in treatment doses, registration of pest populations, in order to make sure that vines are only treated when absolutely necessary.
HVE 3
It is the highest level of environmental certification in France. Above all, it allows us to prepare for our future and respect our environment. This individual certification is validated by an initial audit and follow-up audits with requirements for measurable results.
Since July 2017, all of our conditioned bottles can carry the “HVE” label.
Organic Agriculture
Our environmental awareness naturally led us to commit to the conversion to organic farming in 2018. We started with a couple of our properties (Château Lagrange and Domaine de Teychon). Each years, we progressively add more land to the conversion with the aim that all our properties are fully converted in 2022. Remaining humble is key in this rewarding challenge, however, being able to give back to nature is a great motivator.
